Here in the city, I can shop around for machine work. But I can't afford the acreage to have my own junk yard.

You get lots of room, fresh air, and a movie theater that is open Wednesday and Saturday nights. But the local machine shop is closed for the winter. Boo Hoo.

I'd buy one new valve and a tube of Clover Leaf. Us a drill motor on the stem to spin it. (Can't do that with a flat head!)
