The company that has the patent is lobbying the government to make the technology mandatory on all saws sold in the U.S.

Of course they have pretty much locked-up every variation and are demanding a 30% royalty.

One unfortunate thing is that when the device is activated, it ruins the saw.

Better a ruined saw than a hand, but the cost of implementing the technology will be prohibitive.
