Only an opinion here, but here it goes.....most of us have the trucks because we like them. Anyone that buys one with the intention of restoring it, and then selling for profit....I have news for you....it ain't gonna happen. I have made a profit only once, I'm sure it will never happen again. Sure, some will dispute that here, but after 14, 15, maybe 16 restorations I can assure you the vehicles are just not worth that much, period. Get lucky and find a buyer for what you ask, you are trully lucky. Outside of that, appreciate the truck for what it is and keep it. Unless you do the rediculas things that I do and get more, and risk loosing your home and effects, keep your trucks without ambitions of profit. The profit is in those around you that wish they could have something like that. From my point of view, the fenders for sale(for example) are a reasonable deal, for one particular buyer. Do you love your truck/project that much that you will buy them? Sure you will, or would. You want your dream truck to be realized. And with some effort, the fenders will look like new. It can't be a matter of cost, if it is, you are looking at the wrong thing. I know not everyone can drop that kind of money(especially me, I just take serious risks) but knowing that what you need is out there is half the battle. How bad do you want it?, is the question. Currently, as most of you know, I am starting to liquidate anything Power Wagon laying around to make another project come to life. I am not going into it with profit in mind, just a really cool thing to have. Might take me 10 years to get there, but I swear I will. The fenders I need cost about the same as the ones for sale here. The engine(s) will take the sale of trucks to attain. They aren't worth keeping for me because I want to move on. So I hope I can make someone's day soon. They will certainly make mine....especially if I can pass them on the highway at 120mph. I hope I have not offended anyone, but it just seems to me that we're forgetting that these are not common mustang's we're putting together here. There are not many parts left, and bless those that are making repro stuff to keep us going. If someone is willing to part with an original piece, bless them to for helping someone out. How many have rotted away from the folks that will never use the stuff but swear they will one day, and then it gets moved into a 30yd. dumpster at an estate clean-up? ( you know, the truck you eyed up for years, had a tree growing up through it, but could never get 'cause the mean old man chased you away)...You know what I mean. We'll keep these old Dodges going, one way or another, with a few modifications here and there. In the outside world, know one really knows the difference anyway, exept us. Just another jeep to them...peace and respect to all...chris
