My experiences with the Braden winches.

The standard underslung model has parallel mounting faces at the front and rear of the worm casting and the shaft support leg, at a 90 degree angle to the axis of the input shaft.

The MU2 has parallel mounting faces at the front and rear of the worm casting and the shaft support leg, at 10-20 degree angle to the axis of the input shaft - causing the front mounting points to be higher than the rear points.

The Braden for the 1/2-ton W-series Military Dodge has non parallel mounting faces at the front and rear of the worm casting and the shaft support. The front is angled more than the rear causing the front mounting points to be higher than those at the rear and accommodating for S-shaped bend in the frame horns that angle up to the bumper.

At least this is what the winch looked like that I had off of a WWII 1/2-ton Dodge. Unless something was bent really bad and I just did not know it.
