Not sure if you live outside of C.R., but I would imagine it still holds but I will check.
I kind of feel that way too in regards to Pacific and Atlantic, I did have the opportunity to live in Cahuita once and it does have it's good points, especially Salsa

I have my house in Jaco and then I have 32000sq. ft. lot 15 min.from Jaco North up the mountain, app. 1800 ft. above sea level, little cooler than Jaco.
My plan is to someday build my mountain hideaway up their too.
