Clint, you are right. The holes do line up if you were to move the mounting forward. Issue there is that it will present a problem with the bumper mounting to the frame extensions (would be jammed/crammed in between extension and normally flush mounting of lateral bumper pieces and the rear cross piece of the winch would mount on top. Maybe not huge issues, but would take some tinkering and perhaps hammering in and of themselves not to mention potentially causing some problems. Interesing, wish I had a time machine to see why this was done at some point. I'm guessing that moving them so far forward would also complicate the hinge points as the top would be moved forward by about 6 inches more while the undercarriage hinge point would remain in its "normal" (more rearward) position.

I agree with not being too hot and heavy to cut stuff. Will proceed with caution!

Still working on figuring out the second pulley for the generator to monarch pump. You were right in your replies back in December, that is going to be a tinkering process, better not leave any fudge factor in that fabrication as I'd hate to lose a pulley at 1000 - 2000 rpm...would be a missile that I don't think the 65 year old truck would appreciate. Will likely post some photos for input prior to actually turning the key.

I can see a few other differencs in my plow and yours and T-Roys...namely, no wheels, looks like it uses the castors. Interesting.... likely not the end of the world. My guess is that the "dodge special" portion (really the unique part) was really the frame mounting system, not so much the the physical plow. Not to say they didn't come with a specific plow, but guessing it is similar to today's modern plows where a certain size Meyer is right for a given truck but the real unique part is the frame mount.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the information and guidance!!
