It's not too difficult to do the rear axle. Simply move the perches, notch the corners of the perches for the U-bolts, and bolt it in. The front axle takes slightly more doing. I put a Dodge Dana 60 front under my WDX. If you stay with the factory FFPW springs, it's not bad. To try to go 2.5" springs like a modern truck is a nightmare; don't do it. The Dodge axle has a large cast iron spring perch on the driver side. It has to move a little bit and you'll probably destroy it taking it off. I made a new perch to get the height correct at 7/8" and welded it on. That's simple. The passenger side can be a bit of a pain. The spring perch is actually part of the diff case. There is the hole for the leaf spring center bolt to fit into. Basically you braze it shut, grind it flat, and drill a new hole right beside it. The inside edge of the spring fits right against the diff housing, so drill your hole 7/8" away from the housing. Once all that is done, weld a piece of square key stock on the outside of the cast-in perch so that it cradles the spring pack and keeps it from moving. It's not difficult, just tedious and somewhat time-consuming.
