the bulbs dont burnout. i have run them for lots ofmiles on a coule of my trucks and a couple years ago I was working ona WDx I restored in 195 for a customer and we installed an 8 volt back then and 2 years ago I drove it at night and all lights and gauges still worked fine. he used it as a farm truck mostly so probably not toomuch might driving but the better starting and reduction in possibility of carb flooding makes it the absolute best immediate upgrade you can do to these trucks. I like stock stuff but for such a simple improvement for no extra cost why go backwards to a 6 volt bat? Especaillly if you do any offroading in the mountains. If you are on a hill climb odds of flooding out are very high. it is dangerous to not be able to start your engine when holding by brakes on a slippery 60% grade. anything that will help me in those situations is a plus. There is a reason everyone walked away from 6 volt. lack of performance
