I have been looking at the bed floor of the 49 F-1 At first it looks like the wood was covered at one time with sheet steel.But today , cleaning up all the junk we just put in the bed. It really looks like this was done at the Factory? The steel is shaped like the wood and you can see the shape of the strips between the wood. Any Dodge boys have a answer??. Thanks Bill.
