Need help removing a headligh bezel

Is there a tool or trick to removing the dash bezel on the headlight switch of '48 FFPW?

The bezel is about the size of a dime and smooth on the edges with no slots for a tool.

Where the shaft passes through the bezel, there are two very small slots, one on either side of the shaft.

I've tried placing the ends of a couple allen wrenches in the slots and twisting the allen wrenches with a pair of pliers. No luck so far and I don't want to damage the bezel. Any suggestions?
