Heat studs with a torch to dull red. This will break more rust loose than anything else I know. Is the engine out of the vehicle? If you can turn it on its side you can get Kroil (my favorite penetrating oil) to run down the shafts of the studs. Let it soak for a week, freshen it every day with more Kroil, then carefully wedge and pry at multiple points without damaging the block surfaces. Note: There are "hidden" studs underneath the carb-to-exhaust preheat box which you cannot see looking down on the engine. Get an inspection mirror and make sure you have removed ALL the nuts.
