I hadn't thought about that. The "short" extensions that I have are original to my '49. The "long" extensions are from a Danish WM300 which was built in the 60's and more than likely had a 251 in it. I knew that the radiators were moved forward but didn't know the extensions were longer (makes sense). Maybe the long extensions are original equipment for all later PW's? I wasn't trying to spread misinformation but I guess maybe I was.
I suppose a call to VPW is in order unless someone with a 251 and a winch reads this and will measure their extensions.
Sorry for any confusion.
