A radiator is brass (and or)copper which you use solder to join together.A oil pan and dipstick tube are ferrous metal which you braze or maybe wire weld. It might be possible to prep the metal and possibly solder it together but whether it would actually hold when you crank and run the engine is another story.Personally your the only person I've ever heard suggest soldering ferrous metals. Not that it isn't or can't be done, only that I've never seen or heard of it even being attempted. If I was stranded and thats all I had to work with to get me to safety,I would surely try it.
