Hello Frank,
What you have there if they are the 6.50x900x16“ wheels are military trailer wheels. I have some here that are that way. These were very heavy duty axles in the 3 1/2 to 7 ton range. The trailer brake drums are smaller in diameter and wider allowing the inner dual to clear the backing plate. The studs were longer to allow both rims to go on with one lug nut. There also is an additional ring that slipped on after the second dual that had bevel cut holes to accept the standard Budd nut. I have trailer axles and wheels that are of both types, regular Budd dual with the regular holes and the type you have. The only way it can go on as a dual with a standard rim is as the inner which won’t work. The dual rims with the regular holes work fine with the standard rim when used as the outer dual and regular Budd dual nuts. I don’t know what you can do with these other than have the holes redrilled or with the disk brake conversion and no backing plate it may clear in this fashion. I know this doesn’t help you get them on your truck but that’s the story on these wheels... Jackson
