A buddy is putting together a monster 1941 WC Dodge closed cab pickup.

He took 6" x 8" x 1/4" steel tubing, and burned it in two to make 3" x 8" frame rails. The frame rides on early 60's six lug Dana 60's, front and rear, with 4.88 gears. The cab is on the frame now. I'm 6'2" and the bottom of the door glass is at nose height with the "shop" tires (wait until the monster mudders are on it). The engine is a 440 with a 727 trans feeding a divorced NP205 transfer case. Major crossmembers are bolted in, all else is welded. This is to allow max frame flex he says, though I can't imagine much that would flex a 3" x 8" frame member. The work is first rate, as he is a professional welder.

I'm going to get some photos of it as work progresses, and eventually we'll put it on a web page.

Well, I've got to get back to wrenching on my wimpy M37.
