If the points were in the open position when the ignition was on, they should be OK. If they were in the closed position with the switch on, they may have 'welded' together and then pulled apart when you started it. The indicator here is a gob of material stuck to one side of the points and a crater on the other side of the points. The points should be replaced if this has happened. The batteries may have lost significant life by being fully discharged, but running the truck will tell you that. I can't think of anything else to check, since it started and ran fine.
