I saw a PW, either a WDX or a similar model, at Helitool that was run off the center of the standard transfer case. I'm not a PW expert, but it should be the NP-200. Ray said it was a lot quieter and the transfer case ran about 50 degrees cooler.

One drawback is the height of the front of the driveline is raised a bit, so it is closer to any crossmembers. This *could* present a problem on an M37 in high articulation usage. It's at least something that needs to be checked out closely. The PW has a longer WB, and this is probably not an issue on it or, say, an M43.
