Thanks to Brian and John for the input.
I know what you mean about wrecking yards being able to make more money on parts than whole vehicles sold. I suspect this isn't the case with this yard. I've had a pretty good working relationship with these guys for a while now so I think I've figured out their business philosophy. For one thing, I've been eyeing this M37 for over a year and no one has touched it. It's in a rural area so I'd imagine that no one who's interested in it knows that it's there. So they really don't seem to have any potential for making any money on it from anyone other than me. Secondly, they've always given me killer deals on parts. Half the time they let me have stuff for free that I pulled from the vehicle myself. I think their attitude is that they only concentrate on the kind of business of selling parts that show a profit, like axles, transmissions, running engines, and volume for newer vehicles. It's not worth their time to bother with little five dollar transactions where I've found a few clips, some bolts, or other trim parts for example. Maybe they realize that a lot of stuff in a wrecking yard is just junk anyway, and there are only certain types of parts that hold their value. I'll admit that a whole truck is not a small transaction, but they aren't selling anything off it any way, so I think the guy would sell me the whole truck if he had an easy, "30 seconds and then your out of my hair" method of doing it. In any case, I'll try one of your suggestions. Thanks again for the input.
