I've got a 1/2 tonne Carryall (WC-10). Half tons are faster. I can run 55 all day long. I have run from Phoenix, Arizona to Waterford, Califoirnia four or five times for the weekend. (700 miles/17 hours) Its slow on the hills but it will run 55 on the flats. I have the original 7.50x16s.

I also have a a WC 22 (express cab pickup) I've not weighed it but it is decidedly lighter than the Carryall. I run M37 Rubber and wheels (9.00x19s) That gives me a 10% overdrive. I try to keep it under 60 mph actual. I think the half tonnes are under engineered for brakes. I have run the Carryall with the 9.00s but found with the weight I really slowed down on hills (15 mph like)

Now, they do roll. Mine had been before I brought it home. When compared with with the 3/4 ton I don't see why the either carryall would be more likely to roll. Aft of the front clip (aft... that's the Navy experience) the bodies are the same. They (3/4) also run the taller tires. I would agree the 3/4 ton weapons carriers and KD ambulences are lower but I would tend to question the carryall.

I off road my carryall quite aften and have yet to not go where I wanted. It also occurs to me a differnece between 1/2 tonnes and the 3/4 tonnes are the wheels in that a 1/2 tonne wheel with 7.50x16 can be dualed up. I have dualed both front and rear to run in the sand. It will not get stuck, in my experience. You can't drive it on the highway that way as it tends to go wherever the hell it wants. I also question the stress on the front end.
