The reason baseball caps originally were all green under the bill is because green absorbs more light than any other color, helping prevent the player from being bothered so much by the sun in his eyes. Maybe this has something to do with the color breakdown.
Of course today most people don't know which way the bill of a baseball cap is supposed to go. :>
