To me the biggest problem is finding good drums and getting the shoes centered. I have always used a jury rigged pointer clamped onto the hub to line up the shoes and thought I was doing OK. My nephew brought is truck to some chain place that had the proper centering tool and got a much better peddle. Not sure if they ground the shoes to match the drums or not.
