Alot, way more than a little grinding here and there can fix. Manny talks about pillow blocks, chains and sprockets on the shaft, but the issue is that the pto prevents the 420 from mating up to the bh. We got a 435 type box (4359 or something) and a one way pto, which is no good for a winch. So last summer I went to the chelsea site to see what pto might go on that box. I found a ton of adapters (1:1, faster, slower, short, long, offset either way, etc.) that would mount between the box and pto which might move the pto far enough away from the box and bh to work. And we also have a lead on some sort of adapter that someone says would do just that. Has not been tried, no idea what it is, so no guarantee here, but if we ever get the adapter we'll try it out on the 420. In the meantime I suppose I could go back and look at the chelsea site list of adapters to see what's there. But the pto we have is PW, who makes that, and the chelsea adapters are probably for chelsea pto's. Who makes the pw pto? New Process?
