the 61 and earlier 318 did have a different crank flange (8 bolts) and the lower bell bolts were different than later 318s but the poly and the later 318 from 62 on have the same crank flange, bellhousing pattern, and bell housing, then the hydraulic was dropped, fortunately, in 69.
