Hi Dan. I made my passenger side bracket. I took bits and pieces of various brackets, welded them together, and disguised them as a casting.
My main concern was locating the passenger side bucket the same distance from the rear stake pocket as the driver side - in three planes. I was also trying to make it look like the only original one I had seen prior to that time, but I saw that one some 20 years before and I had not taken a good photo of it.
I do not remember the one I saw back in the early 80's having a sheetmetal piece between the bucket and the cast bracket. But, enough of the style shown by T-roy have turned up over the recent years that I believe they are correct.
