One thing I discovered when disconnecting the White 49 Power Wagon's engine was that the rubber fuel line from the metal line to the mechanical fuel pump was only clamped on the fuel pump end. The line side was loose. No fuel leaked, but I bet under high RPM and up hill it was easier for the pump to suck air rather than pull fuel up hill.

I'd had hill climbing issue with the truck all the time I had it it would go along and then loose power and almost stall. Might be the problem, might not, but was a surprise to not see a clamp on the hose. Oh and yes it was easy to pull off.
