I don't know. I pulled a military pulley off a parts truck that is missing its radiator, and installed it in my M43. I don't remember any particular problem getting the civilian one out of the M43, but it was a couple years ago that I did it, and there is probably more clearance than on your civilian truck. I went to take a look just now but there's such a big pile of frozen snow and ice that's dripped down and froze the hood down that I didn't feel like breaking it loose just to look. All in all, I think there's more clearance with the military installation.

The M37 tranny is synchromesh in 3rd and 4th, whereas the civilian one is a crashbox for all gears. I suspect that makes the military one longer and puts the shift tower farther back. "Simple" projects have a way of growing, don't they?
