Again, that is such a thin walled casting that welding would bring a lot of distortion to the situation. Regarding the comment about metallizing, I do not know the temperatures that are reached, so I can't speculate, but I believe metallizing does not add as much material as flame spraying can.
I did inquire once about flame spraying, and at the time [15 years or so ago] the cost was extremely high, and they would not guarantee a satisfactory result.
