Today, I learned the story on the Schroon Lake 'Little Mo'. My recollections of the Mini was based on actual remembrance of it being in service in the late 1970's. And a quick look this past summer from about 400 feet where she sat at the Tourist Attraction. She was Nose out and the Rockwood FFF Roof Turret caught my eye.

First; Paul ( in NH) was absolutely correct. It was not a Dodge 4x4 as my mind remembered her to be. Rather, she was a 1957 Chevy 2 wheel drive with a fire dept body and the Rockwood FFF foam system. The manufacturer of the Body is unknown at this time.

The actual person who cut her up, was in my shop today and gave me the history as he remembers it. Roughly 1980, the Fire Dept took her out of service and gave it to the Highway Dept. The highway dept decided it would be handy as a flat bed.
My friend removed the body and fire dept equipment. He left the Rockwood FFF
roof turret as removing it would have left a huge gaping hole in the roof. Then the fire dept decided that they wanted it back to use as a hose truck. It went back into service for a few years. Finally it again went out of service and was sold on a sealed bid. The tourist attraction was high bidder. Little Mo was the name Rockwood called the on board foam system with the remote control roof turret.

Honestly when seeing her again at a distance this past summer, I started thinking of a restoration, still remembering her as a Dodge 4x4. Now learning she was a Chevy, I no longer have a interest to approach the present owner. sniff-el sniff-el.

Thanks; Paul (in NH) for the correct info you posted that got me digging deeper.

Paul
