I use tools for a living. I'm on elevators & escalators, and not in a shop so my work environment is not secure. Dropped tools get lost fast, so cost is an issue.

Screwdrivers: Snapon exclusively
Pliers/needle-nose/cutters: Snapon exclusively.
Sockets: Mac & craftsman
non-critical wrenches: craftsman
mexican micrometers: craftsman

My ratchets are a mix, but I use old craftsman "micro-clicks" for 3/8 & 1/2". I bought one new ratchet last year. It was Snapon. Any ratchet I replace will be Snapon. You may belly-ache about the price, and it might be a little inconvenient to replace if a truck isn't around, but a failed tool is also lost time.

I can't justify Snapon wrenches, but if I worked in my own shop instead of the field, I my feel differently.

Craftsman has been garbage for many years now. This isn't news. They sell 'em at K-Mart. It ain't hard to figure out. It ain't right that they're bailing on their warranty & reputation, but that's why Sears is a dieing store. I quit going there 20 years ago.
