weld a big nut on the top of the tapered cone and hit it with a impact they will buzz right out. No need to use a torch to heat the ear of the housing,, that is the way I was told to do it from the guy I bought the rebuild kits from and it has yet to fail me.

Last truck of mine I took apart to inspect the comes had over 300,000 miles on it and the cones still looked new, they still had most of the factory black coating on them, I chose not to remove them, just put the new bushing it and put it back together, that has been over 100,000 miles ago now and she is still fine. Of course that truck almost never sees off road use, I would guess that it has almost 99.99% of it use on the road.
