In the last issue of the magazine, the cover photo was of a restored 4 WD Willys truck from the early 50's. A stunning restoration. The owner did a great job on it.
But I was surprised by the text of the article. They called it a "one ton" truck.
The weight of the truck listed (less than 4,000 lbs), the size of the stock engine (4 cylinder, horsepower in the 70's - and we think the 230 is anemic), the spring pack size and other things all make me wonder if it was not an overstatement to call it a one ton, whereas the flatfender of the same year is maybe an "honest" one ton?
Like I implied, I am not knocking the truck or the job the guy did, just the Willys description of the truck.
