take a medium siaze chisel, go in thru port, hit with hammer and break the top of guide off flush, the break easy and the reason they aren't coming out is the years of heat expands the top of the guide. That trick was showed to me by a guy born in about 1910 and spent his life as a proffesional dealership mechanic then shop owner, my first mentor, learned volumes form him.
that is how you can replace guide without removing the cam as well, break off at the bottom every time the guide gets close to the lifter. had to do that once on a customers 230 who accidentally bent a valve while installing the head and it hogged the guide out so had to do just the one in the vehicle. worked great!
