Yea. The problem with chaining up only one tire of a dual is that if you are on compact snow the tire with the chain can dig a shallow trench under it until the tire next to it is on the snow and is bearing the weight. Then that tire starts to spin on the compact snow and your stuck as the chain is not doing its thing.
I am kind of interested in the single chain that covers both duals. Truckers use them but I am not sure how well they work.
