Experienced the same thing with the change in formula. It smells like they've left the fish oil out of it, at least that what the old stuff always smelled like to me.
I don't know if they are in your area but HWI hardware stores has their "own" housebrand paint with their HWI logo on it. If I were to bet I'd say Rustoleum makes it for them and relabels. As of last year, it still had the fish oil in it and it was cheaper. Might want to check around.
I painted outside metal gates with it and it held up just like the old Rustoleum did. It's been on 4 years now by a salted roadway Kevin
