But the line is routed in front of the heat shield, to keep it out of the hot air from the exhaust. I do have a stainless steel heat shield.
I also feel that a smaller line, 1/4", might make the fuel move faster through that hot zone, giving it less time to soak up heat, and still have plenty of flow.
