....Clessie Cummins contracted to the Jacobs Mfg. company (the drill chuck company) to make his idea of an engine brake. It is NOT a valve that closes or restricts the exhaust from leaving (got a PacBrake on my Ford Diesel) and it is VERY marginal. But Clessie made the TRUE jake that opens the exhaust valves on the compression stroke. Cummins has 3 positions and CAT has 2 positions. Just took my '58 Pete out for a nice drive and regardless of my resonator underneath, everyone within a mile or so HEARD that Cummins jake. Just LOVE that sound! PW content: My Pete is stored next to my C1PW which also has a Cummins.
