If when you turn the key off, and there is still power to the points, how are you killing the engine, electric fuel pump and the engine eventually dies?

If the key is off there should be no power to the points, if there is, you need to fix that before you burn out the points/condenser.

It's likely there is something added to the truck up stream of the switch that is drawing power when not in use.
