Here's the deal...South Old Bridge Fire Dept. ordered the two trucks in 67-68. They were ordered from Oasis Doge in Old Bridge. The commiissioners had quite a time getting them because the line was being discontinued. Through alot of bargaining and corporate hastle, Dodge agreed with Oasis to build them. They were custom, as they had a standard frame, but a 6 foot bed. The neighboring fire company, Robertsville, tried ordering one within a week of the same time the order was placed. Oasis tried, but could not get the order through as Dodge division was declining any other orders. Rovertsville was told, as well as Old Bridge that they would be the last two off the line, and that was it. Robertsville purchased the truck from South Old bridge a few years later when replaced with a more modern unit. I purchased the other one that the fire company (South Old Bridge) kept about 27 years later. The folks from South Old Bridge that did the transactions are gone. I wiorked with them on a daily basis for about 15 years. The same with the Robertsville guys, most are gone. There may still be someone around there from way back to confirm it all, but I doubt it. There was no documentation available when I made my purchase, except the title. The truck I bought is long gone in NY somewhere, one of the South Old Bridge members bought it back from me back in 98-99 during my divorce clearance sale. You could check with Oasis Dodge, they may have something that goes way back, but I doubt it. Good luck with the search. I have no reason to doubt what the commissiners were telling me back in the day. We gave them alot of parts to keep the two trucks going, until FFS stopped their use sometime in the early 80's.
