When I was fixing my seam, I bought a VPW kit but sent it back when I realized it was just a piece of 1/8x1/4 steel for what I thought was a steep price. I then got a piece of my own steel, shaped it on my table sander to look like the original seam metal with the rounded edges, then bent it to match the cab contour. Then I welded some small machine screws to the back in a few places. I drilled some holes to accept the screws, then I filled the seam with 3M seam sealer and beaded the steel piece into the seam and tightened up the nuts, then wiped off the excess, it worked nicely, and looked stock too.
