A friend of mine used to work for a company that built ponds. They would use a pond liner to keep water leaching back into the ground. Some of these ponds were huge. If you could get a piece of that, it would take care of water going any further but you will still need some sore of drainage. Even if you put sand, the water is going to sit and probably stagnate. Do you have a raised curb around the outside of the structure? Possibly you could drill a few drain holes and fill them later when you build.
