Today the rear winch left for it's journey to a new home. The buyer arrived in a Toyota Tundra. I had the winch cut loose and ready to lift out with the chain hoist. When we set it down into his Toyota, the truck settled about 2 inches. Considering it's about 1 1/2 times the size of an MU2, and with a drum full of 7/16" cable, it's understandable. He is taking it to a remote part of Alaska, has to access by boat. The winch is way over qualified for the job he has for it, but he wanted a big spool that would hold 600+ feet of 3/8" cable. He plans to drive it with hydraulics, powered by a Honda engine.
I'm hoping someone will want the bed and the towing equipment, rather than scrapping it.
Plans are to build a steel flatbed and put my extra MU2 winch behind the cab.
