But these flat heads only have 60 hp to the ground, don't expect neck-snapping acceleration under 5400 pounds.
Do you see the timing jumping when you use a timing light? Does the advance work- test by twisting the rotor, should move and spring back. Or are you just blaming what you don't understand?
How is the rest of the engine? Even compression? Valves OK, and in adjustment? Choke operational?
