Hi Lee,
Dont accept their first offer. I have a friend who used to be an insurance adjuster. His job was to lowball claims, and if the insured accepted his offer, great, money in the companys pockets. When people would hold his feet to the fire, he always had a sweeter deal for them.
Insurance companies are in business for one thing and one thing only, to make money, NOT to pay it out unless absolutely necessary.
