61 W300 axle

I looked at a 1961 W300 this morning,the seller said the right side front diff has encountered some kind of problem.He said the diff made a noise then quit pulling,and the steering started to bind.I would assume the knuckle joint broke.The locking hub turns and locks in both positions so I doubt the problem lies there.Therefore assuming the axle shafts broke,are closed knuckle dana 60 parts the same as open knuckle?
