me too. ONe of my mentors was working at a cadiallac/Buick/olds dealer in the late forties and early fifties and he said that when the 49 cad and olds came out with V8s in lesss than a year they had warrantied most of the timing gears and chains as they were the fiber type. All were replaced with metal gears. They were both excellent engines except for that design mistake. dont know why anyone one would ever decide to use it after that first batch of results. maybe to get more service work at dealers.........
