The GMC V6 is I believe just over 300 cubic inches (302?) and had a great reputation as being a torquey reliable engine. But also had the reputation of being a big gas hog too. I would go poly before putting a GM engine in one if I decided to go with gas powered upgrade. Putting GM engines in other brands devalues the vehicles as well.
