Reminds me of a Mack truck that I was repairing once . It had a triple counter shaft transmission that had seized a gear on the shaft and caused the tranny to lock up . I didn’t diagnose the job it was just brought in like that . I removed the transmission cleaned and rebuilt it big $$$ on parts . When it came to reinstalling said transmission a week later it would not go together . All I did was remove the gear box and didn’t touch the clutch ok . This tranny weighed a lot I figured maybe a thousand pounds I could be wrong plus or minus and sure some one on this forum will tell me the actual weight . The first day I pushed and pushed no luck next day I called a friend of mine also a mechanic we checked every thing over angles and such and pushed until seven that night . I called my buddy frank who worked at Mack truck on the third day he suggested we put a jack behind the transmission ,so we did applied pressure to put the tranny in still no luck three inches to go I left that night to go home to do some farm work but left the jack on the rear of the tranny . Next morning I wasn’t to happy to face this job again but when I went under the truck the transmission was almost in place !!! over night the tranny jack had leaked a bit and a little pressure from the jack on the tail stock was just the right angle and I just pushed it home the last half inch with a bar and some leg power or magic elves had come in that night and did it I didn’t care because I had bolted tight in twenty minutes ,after all the sweat I put in the days before goes to show you what can happen if every thing isn’t right ~ Copey
