When I had the pan and head off I didn't find any scoring in the bores and the cylinder walls looked like new. I took off one of the caps and the crank was nice and smooth. Did you pull the piston through the top of the motor or bottom? Can I get to the main bearings? Rods shouldn't be too hard. I assume the cam has to come out of the block, right? before changing the bearings? Cam looked brand new in there.
