Shoot Chris, the hard part about getting the engine out is done. Taking off all the sheet metal. The only thing that rings will do is increase your compression, not the oil pressure. and that is only if your cylinders aren't worn. Your bearings are worn and you have 3 sets, cam, main and rod. In-frame will only get your rod bearings.
It could also be a crack in your oil pickup tube that only opens up enough to cavitate when the engine is warm.
If you are going to do a rebuild in a year or two and don't want to pull it now, I would just run it as is (I mean how many miles are you going to put on it in two years anyway?) and save your loot for a rebuild, or just buy a old 230 and rebuild it over the next two years as time and money allow, then swap it in when done.
