I'd be like you on never trusting it again. Maybe it was worn or dirty? Still, a good trigger design should always fail safe (no fire) rather than failing in dangerous way. I'm trying to remember the pistol that has a reputation for firing when the safety is released. I know I've read about it, maybe one of the CZ combloc models (CZ52?). It has some clever decocking mechanism that doesn't really work right. Of course the commies never had to worry about lawsuits.
